Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast, and has the record of being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci at age six. Comaneci would go on to become Romania's gymnastics coach. In 1969, she participated in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She won in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an the all-around junior champion. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. In 1976, she became the first person in the world to use a backwards-double salto in order to take off the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started doing figure skating alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the entertainment business in her teens. Her first professional gig was figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice with actors.
