Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. From a very young age, her dental doctors parents and teacher mother supported Audrey's love of drama and theater. It was this love which trumped her original desire to be the first primatologist. The early success of her career and the rapid rise in fame made her a promising young actor. Following her graduation, she participated in the French show for spotting talent Jeunes Premiers which was backed by Canal+. She won the Best Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her acting career. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church when she was a child and was raised Catholic. She is now separating herself from this background. In addition to acting, she pursued modelling and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Photographing is also a obsession and she was recently shown her work in the Arles festival under the name Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrities, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her rise to fame with Amelie. There are also several photographs that show her self. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first big role, starring as a lead character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie received international acclai the box office and received acclaim at awards ceremonies across the globe. It's the biggest French language film to ever be released in the US. Following this film, Tautou appeared in a variety of films, ranging from British dramas up to Jean Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de Faancailles. Then she moved into Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
