April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began piano and guitar lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited the interest of her. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single called Different. When she was 14, April spent much time writing songs and honed her music ability. In the following years, she took writing trips with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. April also included additional topics in her hit song"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with issues such as peer pressure disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a popular figure and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia Clean Beauty brand. The truth is that she was born with no left hand and that makes her unique. It's not the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't overlook her disability. But it also doesn't make it a point to emphasize it. The profile is a statement. The message? We each contain multitudes, that our identities and physical self aren't as they seem. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I am not convinced that my physical appearance is what defines me. My goal is not to be an influencer on disability, because I've plenty to offer." My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I go about my regular day-to-day life and discover myself solutions for problems. But, I consider it a very important aspect of me. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. Still, she admits that she went through a few phases with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothes that showed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she wants and posts pictures on Facebook in awe. It's a journey is what I don't know that will ever be the end of self-love. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never get there. It's vital to surround yourself people who are able to identify and feel your heart.
